Maybelline Elixir Review and Lip Swatches

Maybelline Elixir Colorsensationals are the new item out. They rival the Le Laque by Loreal and the Revlon Balm Stains Laquers. They are supposedly a 3 for 1 product. They feel like a lip balm (and they do omg thank goodness), they shine like a gloss, and have the pigmentation of a lip stick. They are $8.99 at CVS and there is a 30% of coupon going around from CVS (check your email). So for $6 and change I gave it a chance. I love that it is like a balm, very moisturizing, I like the color but it is not as pigmented as I was hoping. They feel better than anything else I have had on lately (compared to the new Balm stains by Revlon). The color payoff is decent for how moisturizing they are but not my favorite. I think during the winter I will wear them a ton just because I fight really bad dry lips. I would recommend this if you love a good color payoff and want a balm feel. Be prepared you will be reapplying though, they are not a stain clearly. Honestly, this type of formula like the Loreal dupes for the YSL glossy stains you have to put a couple coats on and if you don't get a deep color then for me they will not show up. I will be purchasing the red one after I assess the feathering. So far not very much feathering and I think that is because they are not runny. The feeling for me is worth buying at least one more! They beat all the rivals in moisturizing (not sticking and they feel smooth) but lose in color payoff and staining. But for the price and cute packaging still a win in my book. My wishlist one is the Signature Scarlet and I will grab one next time I am at CVS!

Loreal le matte and le laque Review

This are becoming a huge deal on YouTube and with the beauty bloggers. I tried to find them everywhere and only had luck at target and it was picked over. I got one le laque and one le matte. They are awesome. Not overly drying, minimal feathering, rich color pay off. The Le laque compared to the Revlon balm stain lacquers is definitely more glossy than the Revlon ones. For me That doesn't really matter. They are definitely more opaque than the Revlon comparables as well. These are more like a lipstick in a crayon form for precision. Lasting time is only ok, but the darker colors definitely stain the lips!

Le Laque - laqcerizing (pinky-mauve)... sorry a bit blurry!

Le matte - (red with a blue tone, prefect for me)

Overall for $7.99 price tag get on it! Definitely worth it and great on a multitude of skin tones!

Jordana Twist and Shines Balm Stains

I am in love with these Jordana twist and shine balm stains. I was not 100% on the Revlon balm stains (original ones, the new ones are way better). But these are better than the original Revlons and a fraction of the cost. $3.29! I picked up two for myself and two for my mom. I got Cranberry Crush and Candied Coral. They have great color payoff, minimal feathering, wear time is only ok, moisturizing (but not as much as babylips or the Revlon balm stains) and they have a sweet fruity smell (better than mint to me).

Here is Candied Coral (my lips are a bit stained from swatching but this is about the color that is always is. I love it! I am always afraid of corals but this one just works!

Here is Cranberry Crush, a perfect plum for fall without being very opaque.

Overall go get them they are worth it!!! I love them!

New Revlon Balm Stains! Matte and Laquer Balms!

I have been dying to get my hands on these and third CVS is the charm. Also I had $2 ECB and $3 off coupon and a $5 off of $15 and they were BOGo 50% off. So I paid like $17 for all 4!! I picked up two lacquer balm stains and two matte stains. From Left to right I got:
- 120 Vivacious (hot pink lacquer)
- 115 Whimsical (Mauve- pink lacquer)
- 240 Striking (fire truck orangey - red matte)
- 225 Sultry ( brown toned, neutral to mauve matte)

Here are the lip swatches:

- 120 Vivacious (hot pink lacquer)

- 115 Whimsical (Mauve- pink lacquer)

- 225 Sultry ( brown toned, plum to mauve matte)

- 240 Striking (fire truck orangey - red matte)

Overall this are awesome, better staying power and color pay off than the original balm stains and of course easy to apply. They do not transfer easy like the apocalips by rimmel which a good wind put them al over my face. The staining power is legit too! They are not drying at all but if you have dry patches all balm stains seem to accentuate that (except the matte ones do not as much). These are better than the original ones by far. Even eating and drinking I only need to reapply a couple times a day compared to the originals which I would constantly reapply like lip balm. I am tempted to go get more!!  Also they are minty if anyone is wondering. The lacquer ones are basically identical to the tarte lip pencils (I have two of those) the formula and look is pretty much identical! I think the color payoff is a bit better in the Revlon ones though!

Review Ellen Tracy "thick stick" lip color

I got these Ellen Tracy "thick sticks" lip crayons from my mom. The whole set was $5.99 from Ross. I was not expecting much but was utterly surprised about the payoff and staying power these are amazing!!! I love a pencil since they are so easy to control but it has the color payoff and staying power of a lipstick and stain!

They have no names for the colors but here are lip swatches!

I wore the pink all day and ate and drank the color barely faded!

Deep fushia color:

Perfect nude for me (so hard to find with my skin tone)

Coral color:

Pinky mauve ... Not my color. Julian liked it for some reason lol. He said I look ghostly...hmmm

Red/orangey love this!

Overall excellent color payoff, staying power A+, and no feathering which is so hard for me!!! Definitely worth more than $5.99! Go get 'em!
